Jewelry Gifts Under $2,500: A Guide to Meaningful Holiday Giving

The most meaningful holiday gifts are rarely the most expensive ones. They are the pieces that get worn every day, the ones chosen for a person rather than a price tag. This guide is built around that idea, and around a firm budget: everything featured here is under CA$2,500.

At Fantasilvia Fine Jewelry, a Vancouver-based fine jewelry brand featured in Vogue, we design everyday fine jewelry and bespoke pieces in solid gold, set with natural and lab-grown diamonds and natural coloured gemstones. The pieces below are all real, currently listed pieces, with their materials and stones stated plainly. Where a piece is made to order, we say so, because timing is part of the gift too.

Start with the person, not the price

A budget works best when it follows the recipient's style, not the other way around. Three directions cover most of the people on a holiday list.

Everyday and minimal. For someone who wears jewelry daily, choose clean lines in solid gold: a fine chain bracelet, simple studs, or a pendant that works with everything they already own. These are the pieces that earn their value by being worn, not by sitting in a box.

Colourful gemstones. For someone who loves colour, a natural gemstone does the talking. Ruby, sapphire, emerald, and turquoise each carry their own character, and a single coloured stone can make a modest piece feel entirely personal.

Personalized birthstone. For someone who values meaning over size, a birthstone piece is hard to beat. Our Spell My Stars birthstone collection is our most-ordered birthstone line, and our Birthstone & Initial Bracelet now allows up to 6 birthstones on a single bracelet, so one piece can carry a whole family. If you want the full month-by-month background, our birthstone jewelry guide covers it without repeating the list here.

Under CA$1,000: thoughtful gifts that don't feel small

This is where a gift budget goes furthest, because the pieces are finished, wearable, and easy to give.

The 18K Gold Mariner Chain Ruby Bracelet (CA$860) is a good example: an 18K gold mariner chain, designed in Vancouver, carrying 16 natural rubies totalling 0.16 carats. Its sister pieces, the blue sapphire version (CA$860) and the diamond version (CA$980), follow the same pattern with 16 natural stones each. All three are 7 inches long, a classic bracelet length that suits most wrists, and they sit well worn alone or layered. See the full range in our bracelet collection.

For a ring gift without the size gamble, consider the 18K Yellow Gold Natural Turquoise Ring (CA$610) and its wrap-ring version (CA$680). Both are 18K yellow gold with natural turquoise, and both use an adjustable band with a Japanese spring mechanism, which takes the sizing question off the table entirely.

CA$1,000–2,500: the milestone tier

This is the range for anniversaries, milestone birthdays, and the gift that marks a year. Three pieces show what the tier can do.

The 18K Yellow Gold Amora Heart Lab-Grown Diamond Drop Earrings (CA$1,250) pair romance with movement: two heart-shaped lab-grown diamonds of 0.75 carats each, suspended beneath round lab-grown diamonds, for 1.82 carats in total across the pair. They are made to order, so allow 3–6 weeks.

The 14K Gold Emerald & Diamond Halo Stud Earrings (CA$1,490) combine natural emeralds totalling 1.00–1.50 carats per pair with a halo of lab-grown diamonds, set in 14K yellow gold. They are made to order, so allow 2–5 weeks. Studs are also the safest choice when you are unsure about sizes, and our earring collection has more options in the same spirit.

The 18K Gold Lavender Sapphire Pendant (CA$1,380) is the quieter pick: 18K yellow gold with a 0.7 carat natural lavender sapphire, for someone who prefers a soft colour over a loud one. Our necklace collection carries the same idea across more styles.

If you don't know their ring size

Don't guess. A wrong size turns a gift into an errand. Earrings and necklaces have no size to get wrong, and bracelets are forgiving: our Mariner chain bracelets come in a classic 7-inch length, and adjustable bands, like those on our turquoise rings, remove the question altogether. If a ring is the gift you have in mind, choose an adjustable design, or pair the surprise with a consultation where sizing can be handled after the holidays.

Materials and stones, stated plainly

Every piece in this guide states its metal and its stones, and you should expect the same from any jeweller. 14K and 18K gold differ in gold content and in feel: 18K is richer in colour and softer, 14K is slightly harder and lighter in tone. Both are solid gold, not plated. Natural gemstones, such as the rubies, sapphires, emeralds, and turquoise above, are mined stones with the colour variation that comes from nature. Lab-grown diamonds share the same physical and chemical properties as mined diamonds; the difference is origin, and we label every piece clearly so you always know which one you are buying.

When to order

Timing is the one part of holiday gifting that can't be fixed after the fact. Finished pieces can be ready sooner, but made-to-order pieces need their full making time: 3–6 weeks for the Amora earrings, 2–5 weeks for the emerald studs. If Christmas delivery matters, order as early as possible and ask us to confirm timing before you buy. We won't promise a Christmas date on a made-to-order piece until we've confirmed it can be made in time. For anything already finished, the product page and our team can confirm availability right away.

See it in person in Vancouver

If you are local, you don't have to decide from photos. Visit our Vancouver boutique at 2797 Arbutus St, or book a consultation and we will help you choose in person, including pieces in the Under $2,500 range. And if your budget stretches beyond $2,500, or you want something one of a kind, our Bespoke Jewelry Showcase shows what a custom piece can look like.

A meaningful gift is not about spending up to a limit. It is about choosing something the recipient will actually wear, in a material and a stone you can stand behind, ordered in time for it to arrive. Under CA$2,500, that is entirely possible.

Questions, answered

What can I actually buy for under CA$2,500?
More than you might expect — from everyday 18K gold bracelets and natural gemstone pieces under CA$1,000 to lab-grown diamond earrings and natural emerald studs between CA$1,000 and CA$2,500. Our Under $2,500 collection currently holds over 130 pieces.

I don't know their ring size. What should I choose?
Choose earrings, a necklace, or a bracelet instead. Bracelets like our Mariner chain styles come in a classic 7-inch length, and some rings have adjustable bands — so you can give a ring without guessing a size.

What's the difference between natural and lab-grown diamonds?
Lab-grown diamonds share the same physical and chemical properties as mined diamonds; the difference is origin. We label every piece clearly, so you always know whether a stone is natural or lab-grown before you buy.

How long does a made-to-order piece take?
It depends on the piece. Our Amora heart diamond earrings take 3–6 weeks and our emerald halo studs take 2–5 weeks. The product page states the timing for each piece.

Can I get a made-to-order piece by Christmas?
If Christmas delivery matters, order as early as possible and ask us to confirm timing before you buy. We won't promise a Christmas date on a made-to-order piece until we've confirmed it can be made in time.

Can I see pieces in person before buying?
Yes. Visit our Vancouver boutique at 2797 Arbutus St, or book a consultation and we'll help you choose in person.
